Some beautiful warm, breezy spring weather has blown in after a couple weeks of cold rain. The Martin Family has been playing selected venues and we are hard at work on new recordings with Lydia, Emily and Erica. We are also preparing for the CD release and tribute concert Oct. 7th, for Claude Martin at Black Rock Center for the Arts. This event is sponsored by FSGW (Folklore Society of Greater Washington) and IMT (Institute of Musical Traditions). Advance tickets will be available soon. We are also looking forward to Common Ground on the Hill. Progress has been made on a new solo banjo album for me, and I’m also soon to be giving workshops related to the book “Robert Johnson for Banjo” (Hal Leonard Publications). Chasing the Ghost is doing well on radio nationwide. I am working with Tory Gallery Music Booking to plan a tour in 2018.
